Welcome to another edition of Artist Weekly. This time we have the fantastic Lost Outrider.
Published- Friday 14th October 2022.
Lost Outrider is know for his amazing electronic dark synth music. A very talented dude. With incredible skills on the guitar. I struggle to put my finger on how to describe his music very much like a few artists I’ve got to know over time their music journey started with their love for Dance electronic music. Lost Outrider brings us such complex but fantastic songs every time. His recent album Mana is something of pure genius. A masterpiece in its own right. The first song on the album is Astel, to which I can only decide it is one of the saddest but most beautiful synth tracks I’ve ever heard. Another is Was it all a dream by Timecop1983. Lost Outrider is from the UK which makes me very happy to have another Artist from my country par take in Artist Weekly. So let’s get down to it and get to know Lost Outrider. o your aid with impunity if even his malice were not defeated by such a blind darkness.

Question One-
Synthwave83– Hey, Thanks for taking the time to do this. First off. Wow, your music is so many different feelings for me personally but let’s hear from you, how would you describe your music?
Lost Outrider– The thing that made sense to me was ‘low light noise’ ‘cos it’s something you’d listen to at night. I usually feel inspired when it’s dark, so I think that comes out in the music.
Synthwave83– So would you say you identify more dark synth or how would you decide it.
Lost Outrider– I don’t tend to listened to much dark synth, synthwave, etc. so (as cliché as this sounds) I’m not sure which genre I identify with the most. Maybe hard wave and witch house, as there is elements of that in my recent album.

Question Two–
Synthwave83– What was it that got you into music? Where did the journey begin?
Lost Outrider- The music my older brothers and sister introduced me was the music that first made an impression on me, then my dad pushed me to learn an instrument. I guess it snowballed from there.

Question Three–
Synthwave83– Your music is so diverse, each track is a different vibe, however, each track is so well put together. Produced so well. What’s been your inspiration for your songs?
Lost Outrider- I’m a band fan of artists like Devin Townsend, Sasha, Chicane, Altar of Plagues, etc. so adding loads of layers into my music is something I love doing. I’m also a big fan of J-rock and J-pop, so artists like My First Story, nZk, and MYTH AND ROID have definitely inspired the music on this album.

Question Four–
Synthwave83– You’ve also created a soundtrack for a film short called Crybaby Bridge: A Louisiana Urban Legend and even music for a mobile game. Tell us how much fun was that for you?
Lost Outrider– The soundtrack was kinda hard as I hadn’t done anything like that since college, so the process was different to what I’m used to. I’m pretty happy with how it came out, though. The song for the game was originally going to be included on my 3rd album, ‘Heart’, but I didn’t finish it in time. I think it’s a pretty cool song, but I don’t like my production on it.

Question five-
Synthwave83– You’ve performed alongside many other epic artists. What’s on the cards for you for the next 12 months? Will we see you gig more or even some new music?
Lost Outrider- I’m working on a new track with Original God and Hoshikuma Minami, plus a track with Sidewalks and Skeletons and Matt Jones of Martyr Defiled. After that, I’m not sure. I’m working on the next Outrun the Sun event, so hopefully I’ll have some news on that in the new future. I do have an album on the way with my black/death metal band, which I’m finishing of mixing process for currently. That’s been really and fun and cathartic to do, and felt like I was going ‘back to my roots’.
Bonus question-
Synthwave83– Name five things as a songwriter and producer you couldn’t live without?
Lost Outrider- My guitar, my PC, Cubase, Slate Digital products, and FromSoftware games (for inspiration).
